Whatever happened to the people power of the sixties? We seem to accept being cattle prodded into our current dilemma. We're no longer talking about only the working poor. We're facing real food shortages in the very near future thanks in no small part to the special interest inspired ethanol fiasco. (400 lbs of corn to fill one tank) Food reserves are already tumbling. We have kneejerk leadership that is totally inadequate to the task. We had it all and allowed our leadership to give it away. Thanks Bill Clinton for NAFTA, and George Bush for...oh let's see...and Obama...where do we begin? Make no mistake, our leadership has, and is giving it all away. And what will fill the void? Anarchy! And it has already begun. Gang=Terror Cell=Social Decay=Anarchy! Where's Homeland Security?
We need to find a means for helping the cream to rise to the top. In the past, our media has destroyed them like “wackamole.” Now, our best and our brightest won't even surface on ground hog day. We deserve a whole lot better than we're getting. We the people have always been the exploited riff-raff! How do we alter the course of this moebius? By inspired, courageous, and motivated leadership. "We will not lose our nation in one great usurpation, but in small increments," in the name of "public good" or worse yet...public apathy. A collective wisdom needs to prevail...and a willingness to initiate. We have been gagged and trussed by all manner of incipient political correctness. We have been raped and led to believe that we consented.
Sound like doom and gloom? It doesn't have to be. Think big and start small. It starts at the community level. Identify those with promise and inspiration. Nurture and encourage their aspirations. Those of us who remain committed to AMERICA need to "think local." If our government insists on policing and providing for the world, at the expense of its own people, then those of us who disagree must intimately understand that we are on our own. And so we must begin anew. Think anew! Start local and grow!
The Irish couldn't alter the oppressive conditions in their own country, and so they left in droves...driven by famine and hunger. Their tormentors followed them, and further exploited them…Slavery and indentured servitude! The Irish are a perfect example of a small island with few natural resources, but a highly educated population. Now that Ireland is a component of a larger constituency, (the European Union) their superior education has been recognized and put to good use by Hewlett Packard, Google and other multi-nationals. And so, from their exile, the Irish are returning to the land of their fore fathers.

We made a fundamental error in judgment in the eighties. We believed that we could de-tool, and become the world's purveyors of knowledge. In other words, we would become “white collar” to the rest of the world’s blue collar. Well, that just didn't pan-out or “trickle-down.” Now, we're caught in limbo land...neither fish nor fowl. (nor white collar or blue collar.) China gratefully picked up our manufacturing void, while India and Pakistan invaded our dreams, and usurped our preeminence in the knowledge proliferation business.
